Formerly known as the Mong Kok Workers' Night School, HKCT has been leading Vocational & Professional Education and Training striving for almost 60 years. The establishment of HKCT Institute of Higher Education (CTIHE) under the Post-Secondary Colleges Ordinance (Cap. 320) in 2014 marked a successful milestone of HKCT. CTIHE has become a tertiary institution eligible to award degrees in Hong Kong since then. From Bachelor's Degree and Higher Diploma to Diploma for Tertiary Studies and Diploma Yi Jin, HKCT offers a wide range of full-time and part-time tertiary education programmes in various disciplines include fitness and sports coaching, television production, tourism and hospitality, creative design, business administration, professional accounting, information technology, humanities and social sciences, languages and corporate communication. Students taking the above-mentioned programmes enjoy their learning in the twin campus in Ma On Shan (HKCT Jockey Club Undergraduate campus and HKCT Jockey Club Ma On Shan Campus) and Homantin Campus in Kowloon where practical and real-life campus facilities are well-equipped.

More than 17,000 employers from different industries (including Investment and Insurance, Finance and Accounting, Property Management, Real Estate, Hotel and Tourism, Health Care and Beauty, Catering, ICT, Retail, Performance Art and Entertainment, Household Cleaning and Home Care, Logistics, , Marketing) have participated in the network, over 500 of them regularly provide placement opportunities and courses feedbacks.
