TSA MIA 2013 • TSA MIA Passenger Screening Activity: • 2013 – TSA highest ever passenger throughput @ 18,139,961 • 2013 vs. 2012 growth @ 5.01% • 2013 – Passenger average daily throughput @ 49,699 • 2013 – Checked bag average daily throughput @ 44, 980 • TSA MIA workforce intercepted over 16,000 prohibited items, including 25 firearms. • TSA MIA Regulatory & VIPR Activity: • Regulatory Inspections: • TSA MIA Transportation Security Inspectors (TSI’s) conducted almost 12,000 inspections in FY13. • Visible Intermodal Protection and Response Teams (VIPRs): • TSA MIA Federal Air Marshalls & Screening workforce dedicated VIPR Teams conducted 275 VIPR Operations at Miami-Dade County Transit (Metrorail) stations, the Port of Miami and the airport.

TSA Pre✓™ • Allows low-risk travelers to experience faster, more efficient screening at participating U.S. airport checkpoints for domestic and international travel. • 30 percent of travelers experience expedited security screening through TSA Pre✓™. TSA Pre✓™ Application Program • Online application • Schedule appointment • Visit the TSA Pre✓™ application center, pay the $85 fee, provide valid government I.D. and fingerprints. • Known Traveler Number sent via U.S. Mail or obtained online. • U.S Citizens enrolled in the CBP Global Entry program are TSA Pre✓™ eligible. What does TSA Pre✓™ mean for travelers? No Removal of: • Belt • Shoes • Light outerwear/jacket • 3-1-1 compliant bag and laptop from carry-on
TSA Pre✓™ • Enrollment Centers • Allows travelers to apply for expedited screening benefits for a fee that covers five years • Enrollment center being planned at MIA-scheduled to open mid September 2014. • TWIC Enrollment Center located at the Port of Miami is being used as a TSA Pre✓™ Enrollment Center. • UES Enrollment Center • 1001 North America Way Suite 111 Miami, FL • Hours of operation: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. • New TSA Pre✓™ lane at our FIS checkpoint • First in the nation • Dedicated lane in multiple checkpoints for use of our TSA Canines. • Pre✓™ total at MIA: 6 lanes (D2, D3, D-FIS, E, H & J-Central) • More lanes to follow in the near future.
TSA Outreach Program • Provide information on Risk Based Security initiatives:Pre✓™; Children 12 and under; Passengers 75 and over • Enhancing the Miami International Airport security experience for business travelers, convention attendees, and exhibitors • Advanced planning w/convention organizers for large events • Provide security travel tips at conventions and community events to improve the guest experience
