2. Warm up • List all the places you have seen data displayed in the form of a table or chart with rows and columns.

3. definition • A matrix is a rectangular arrangement of numbers. • (Arranged in rows & columns, inside brackets) • This matrix has 3 rows and 2 columns, so it is a 3 x 2 matrix. Each item in a matrix is an entry. What entry is in row 1, column 2? In row 2, column 1?

4. example • Make your own 2 x 3 matrix.

6. Subtract the two matrices You can add or subtract matrices if they are the same size. What size are the matrices?
