  3. Part 1: “Unhooking” or removing previous goals, indicators, strategies and actions no longer needed.- Go to your school’s “Plan Overview” and open tree to view all Smart Goals, Indicators, Strategies, and Actions to determine what needs to be unhooked and removed.

  4. Assess the information at the appropriate level you need to unhook In this example I’m only needing to unhook data tied to SmartGoal1.01 Click to get the various “dropdown” tabs linked to this Goal

  5. Remove (unlink) any indicators or strategies housed within the appropriate tab not needed

  6. Part 2. Updating and activating school based indicator results can be accessed by either double clicking a Smart Goal which will automatically open up the linked indicator or….

  7. ....select “Indicators” to get the list tied to the various Smart Goals Selecting “indicators” is probably the most logical as it gives you all the relevant data including the coded “progress” information to inform you that data has already been entered and it’s activated.

  8. After double clicking your desired indicator all editable fields can be filled in accordingly

  9. After general data is entered the yearly results will show in graph form and compared with previous years’ data.

  10. Part 3: Adding school based Goals, Indicators, & Strategies to a school plan. For any of these three plan components, select what area needs additional information . For this example there will be a strategy added by clicking “new” Important to recognize the development status whether it’s “approved”, or “under development”

  11. Fill in all necessary fields and “save”, “save and close”, or “save and new” as to preferred method Although we’re creating a new strategy in this example, it’s important to update the progress of existing strategies in this field

  12. Part 4: Creating and linking actions to strategies First double-click to select the strategy you want to add actions to.

  13. Select the “actions” tab to view existing actions that might need to be modified or create “new” for this strategy.

  14. Fill in the information for the new action, save the action and then save the strategy as required.

  15. Part 5: Linking newly added information to various school plan components. Note: All actions are tied to strategies while strategies and indicators are linked to a SMART Goal. This example will link indicators and strategies to SMART Goal 6.01 by double clicking

  16. Displays existing indicators linked to this SMART Goal and colored progress that has information applied to them

  17. Clicking on the “down” chevron will display the list of indicators that have been added to the overall school plan. You can find an indicator more easily by using the “search” feature putting in numeric values (ie. 3.01) built in the name. Choose “select” to add the indicator to the goal.
