How does Wildlife population pertain to their ecosystem? • Birth and death play an important factor • Death rate vs. birth rate • 1=1 is practical
What else may affect an animal’s population? • Predators (human and animal) • Habitat requirements (food, water, cover, space) • Diseases • “breaking point” of habitat
What is “breaking point”? • Breaking point is the maximum amount of animals that a habitat can support. • Any animals over this point will tip the scale and use up all the requirements before they can be replenished.
