How to Score 1 Point • Throw into goal from outside the goal box • May step over line on follow through (after ball is released), not on throw • May not jump over line to throw

How to Score 3 Points • Basketball shot from behind three point arc line 3 point arc
Penalties • Tripping, pushing, or holding an opponent • Unnecessary roughness • Delaying the game • Traveling (taking more than five steps with the ball) • Obstruction—preventing the progress of a player using personal contact • Restarts will occur from a yellow line (teacher selected location) with a throw. Cannot throw into a basket or goal on a restart
Substitutions • If a team is down two or more players from their opponent because of an absence in class, the teacher will assign a classmate to fill in. • Example: Two players are absent from one team, one additional player will be given to the team to make it 5 vs. 6.
Class Expectations • Know when your team plays • Stretch, warm-up, be ready to play • Look at board for: • What team is wearing pinnies • What team is officiating • Officials’ Responsibilities • 2 linesman to stand out of the way, against opposite bleachers to watch the goal line • 1 scorekeeper
