Understanding the Role and Maintenance of Radiator Filler Necks in Cooling Systems A radiator is a soft part that requires it to be treated very carefully so that it does not destroy the component. Holding or lifting the radiator with the help of the Filler Neck must not be done at any point. The core of the Radiator filler neck or caps shall be inspected visually for dust particles or any other pollutants that can naturally affect the working of the radiator filler neck or caps. In some cases, clean the center of the filler neck using a compressed air blast. The entire process of cleaning the radiator filler neck requires a garden hose with a good jet on the end and on the inside part of the radiator hose at the center to clean out the insects from the front of the radiator. Warning - Do not use water pressure straight at an angle, and don't use a pressure washer as both will likely bend the fins over. The radiator can then be comfortably cleaned with clean water inside and outside. The use of a compressed radiator can then be scorched by air to remove any remaining sediment.
