LATVIAN RURAL ADVISORY AND TRAINING CENTER Established in 1991 Owners: 99% Latvian Ministry of agriculture, 1% Latvian Farmers federation The biggest rural advisory center in Latvia – covers whole country with 26 advisory centers Goal: support rural development, raising rural entrepreneurs proficiency and competitivnes in EU Main task: provide consultation and teaching for people in rural areas in whole Latvia
LATVIAN RURAL NETWORK Prioritate: to provide information and education possibilities in rural areas Established: 2008 Main Tasks: • To promote RDP activities; • To promote colaboration between rural organisations; • To summarize, evaluate and coordinate information about rural areas • To inform society about neccessity to develop rural areas.

«PROMOTION OF YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN RURAL AREAS» Goal: rural youth activization and involving in rural entrepreneurship and social life. Main activities: • To teachyouth about idea generation process and analization, about business plan writing and project management; • To help youth to implement their ideas; • To organize business plan competition.

INFORMATION DAY • The main goal of the information day is to create interest about this activity – to encourage youth to believe in their idea and to start learning process; • At the information day participants learn more about the programm, planned activities and they meet with participants from previous years; • Information day can include visits from local entrepreneurs who motivates and gives inspiration for youth.
LEARNING DAYS • Lesson Themes: • Idea generation; • How to start up Entrepreneurship; • Market research, competition analyzing; • Funding possibilities; • EU projects; • Marketing activities and branding; • Business plan writing; • Bookkeeping; • Presentation skills; • Successful bussiness examples.
CONSULTATIONS AND COMPETITION Consultations: after 5 learning days every participant can get individual consultations about business plan writing from specialist at the advisory center or outside the organisation – local farmers, business people etc. Competition: after learning days participants can submit their business plan for competition in one of 4 categories and compete for prizes. Total prize fund – 30 000 Euros.
