Individual appointments can be made with SENCo or class teacher •A chance to publicly air grievances about the school or staff

SEN Focus Areas for 2018 - 2019 OUTCOMES: Children with Cognition and Learning difficulties will meet there KS1 trajectory grades MATHS attainment outcomes will be a particular focus STRATEGIES: Working Memory difficulties – improved writing outcomes MATHS multi-sensory strategies, Maths Mastery, Non-nonsense Maths, My Maths for homework PHONETICAL understanding for spelling and reading comprehension
SEN Focus Areas for 2018 - 2019 LEARNING BEHAVIOURS: Develop SEN children’s independence and resilience DIFFERENTIATION: Using the SEN Assessment System to plan learning sequences for those working below age curriculum level
Other strategic developments RESOURCE BASE The possibility of establishing a Speech and Language Specialist Resource Base BUILDINGS AND SPACES The Garden Room is now finished – much more nurturing space, suitable for 21st Century learning experiences. Next Step – to obtain funding for developing a Sensory Garden outside the Garden Room. TRAINING SENCo will be undertaking NASENCO Award (Master's Level). This is a statutory requirement for the school, but will involve more time out of school for the SENCO.
HOW DO WE ACHIEVE GREATER OUTCOMES? EVIDENCE based approach – Nasen 'What Works in SEN support' QUALITY FIRST TEACHING to be used consistently TRAINING on different interventions TEAM TEACHING/ PLANNING to develop skills and knowledge, and confidence PLANNING scrutiny – lessons plans, observations, feedback COMMUNICATION – with children, staff and parents. Plans will be shared during Parent Evenings and one additional one in Feb just for SEN pupils.

Secondary Schools Deadline for Year 6 pupils to apply is 31st October. If your child has an EHCP, the LA will apply for the place in Year 5 through the Annual Review system. St Edmund's (Girls) - now integrating some classes with Wyvern.
