  2. What are two questions you should think? • Will you know how to use them? • Will you know how to apply them to improve the teaching and learning environment in your classroom?

What do Educators Need to Know about Software? • How to use software • Be able to identify, evaluate, and apply computer software to the direct and indirect tasks associated with teaching and learning. “It is the educator’s expertise in teaching and in learning that ensures that the programs acquired by a school address the specific, targeted competencies that have been articulated through the instructional design process.”

  4. Two Parts • Administrative software – software that assists an educator in accomplishing the administrative, professional, and management tasks associated with the profession. • Academic software – software that assists both educators and learners in the teaching and learning process itself.

  5. Administrative software • Productivity software and classroom management support software These are productivity software and school and/or classroom management support software.

  6. Evaluating and Using School and Classroom Management Support Software • What are things that you look for when evaluating software for the school or classroom? (Integrated software packages)
