ACE Director Program The NY ACE Director Program’s mission is to complement and enhance USAH’s Coaching Education Program (CEP) in the following ways: • Administrative / communication branch of the CEP.   • Continuing Education piece of CEP • Coaches Meetings • Coaching Mentorship • Skill Development Clinics • Promotes Key Focus Areas • ADM at all ages Great job administratively Communications not reaching all coaches especially ACs

Communication with Coaches - Very Important CIC Dist ACE Sec ACE Assoc ACE HC AC ie -Coaches should know to ask you questions first - Coaches Clipboard sent by ACE/ Video messages ** Bottom line – ALL coaches must receive emails ** 2. Check Coaching Certification (List provided by Registrars) 3. Waivers (extremely hard to come by) 4. Distribute Player Development Forms 5. Screening – New Policy/Process 6. Coaches Meetings & Workshops (Continuing Education) 7. Coaching Evaluations 8. Advocate for ADM/Cross-Ice 9. Assist Organization President with Association Governance

USAH Rules (new last year) • USA HOCKEY OFFICIAL PLAYING RULES – Refer to Rule Book Points of Emphasis 2013-14 through 2016-17 Playing Seasons Fair Play and Respect Rule 411 - Progressive Suspensions (a) Player (b) Team (a) 3rd major aggressive penalty during the season shall receive an additional 3-game suspension 4th major penalty in this category, the player shall receive an additional 5-game suspension. 5th major penalty in this category during the same season shall be suspended until a hearing Aggressive Penalties Boarding Head Contact Body Checking (Body Contact) High Stick Butt-Ending Kicking Charging Kneeing Checking From Behind Slashing Cross-Checking Spearing Elbowing Tripping/Clipping/Leg Checking Head-Butting Unnecessary Roughness (Roughing) • Any team receives 3 major penalties in the same game - Head Coach suspended for the next game For any subsequent game with 3 major penalties - Head Coach shall serve a 3-game suspension. For a third game with 3 major penalties - Head Coach shall be suspended indefinitely until a hearing

  15. New and renewing coaches must complete prior to particapating! SafeSport • USA Hockey has ZERO TOLERANCE for abuse and misconduct. • This SafeSport Handbook includes the various Policies that apply to all USA Hockey Member Programs.  Those Policies address - Sexual Abuse - Physical Abuse - Emotional Abuse - Bullying, Threats and Harassment - Hazing • The Policies also address areas where misconduct can occur and are intended to reduce the risk of potential abuse, including: - Locker Room Policy - Electronic Communications Policy - Travel Policy - Billeting Policy • Website: http://www.usahockey.com/page/show/908023-usa-hockey-safesport-program

  16. Insurance/Risk Management • By registering as a member of USA Hockey you are automatically enrolled in the USA Hockey insurance program.
