Receive Some friends brought a paralysed man to Jesus. Jesus was surrounded by a crowd so the friends lowered their friend down through a hole in the roof. Jesus saw the faith that they all had and said ‘Friend, your sins are forgiven you.’ The scribes and teachers grumbled, saying that only God could forgive sins. Jesus responded and said to the paralysed man ‘stand up and take your bed and go to your home.‘ The man stood up and went out, praising God. From the Gospel according to Luke, chapter 5, verses 17 to 26
