Objectives of the COE • To develop core competences in Synthesis, Characterization and Processing of Nanocomposites, Polymer and metal matrix composites and Memory Materials to offer a research platform that could lead to a wide spectrum of innovations. • To develop a community of resourceful individuals in advanced materials. • To disseminate research findings to the stake holders and to the nation. • To be a source of information about materials, processes and technologies. • To provide high quality education programs in Post-graduation and PhD in advanced materials science and technology. • To conduct seminars, conferences and other educational activities related to the synthesis, fabrication, and processing of advanced materials as well as applications. • To establish strategic multidisciplinary body in basic sciences and engineering to promote faculty collaborations across institutes, industries.

Technology Transfer and Faculty Development Program on “CONDUCTING POLYMER COMPOSITES, SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION” 6th -10th June 2016 • To highlight the research being carried out and promote further research and applications in the area of conducting polymers • To familiarize the participants with the latest synthesis and characterization tools and techniques • Technology transfer to students of B.Sc. from rural background • Village: Devanahalli. • Participants: BSc students of First Grade College, Devanahalli. 3. Technology Transfer: Enabling Workmanship In Electrical Wiring using modern materials July18th -20th, 2016 • To empower individuals with vocational skills in electrical wiring. • To apprise about the career paths in this domain. • To update on the availability of advanced materials for wiring and their functionalities • Village: Chikkanahalli. • Participants: 10th pass students of Govt. Higher Primary School, Chikkanahalli
