  2. Volume • Units of volume include: The amount of 3-dimensional space an object occupies. Capacity. • System International (metric system)…mL, L, cL, kL, etc. • U.S. Customary Units….pints, quarts, gallons,Metric: cubic centimeters (cm3), cubic meters (m3), liters (L), (mL)

  3. CONVERT • A graduated cylinder has 25 mL of liquid. 1. How much liquid in liters? 2. How much liquid in kiloliters? 3. How much liquid in pints? (2.11 pints in 1 liter or 0.4732 liters in each pint) Complete these problems and show your work! Now show all these measurements of equal

  4. Volume of a cube • The height of a a cube is 0.5 meters, the length is 2 meter, and the width is 1 meter. • What is the capacity or volume of the cube? Make sure the units are correct. • What is this capacity or volume in mL (1 cubic meter (m3) = 1000 mL

  7. Conversion • Ms. Thennis measures the height of her little peanut (Joey). Joey’s height is 1.2 meters. • How many millimeters is Joey? • How many centimeters is Joey? • How many feet is Joey? (4 feet equals 1.22 meters) • Show all these measurements as equal

  8. Weight • the amount or quantity of heaviness or mass Little Joey weighs 40 lbs. • How much does Joey weigh in kilograms? (1 lbs equals 0.453 kilograms or 1 kg equals 2.2 lbs) • How much does Joey weigh in grams? • These grams equal how many milligrams? • Show all these measurements as equal.
