Feith Document Imaging and Workflow
What is Feith? • An electronic file cabinet • Rather than maintain paper documents, Feith allows for electronic files to be stored and sorted for quick recall • A workflow management tool • Documents added to a filecabinet can trigger eventsthat begin electronic processes
The Life of a Feith File • Documents are added to the Feith System • If documents come in electronic format, they can be uploaded directly into Feith • If documents come in physical format, they can be scanned into an electronic format • Once imported, they are put in a “Bin” • Like physical documents, until they are filed, they are held in a wait state • Documents are sorted based on key values • This process is called indexing. • Once indexed, the documents can be easily retrieved with the key value(s).
Workflow in Feith • Workflow is a set of sequential tasks that comprise a process • The addition of a document can trigger a workflow, and the values in that document can determine what path the document takes in a workflow
Popular Tasks • Workflows accomplish work using various tasks, allowing the Feith workflow to be custom tailored for particular needs. • Approval Task – requires a user to offer their approval • Notification Task – sends a notification to a user • Wait task – allows an item to wait • Many other task options are available to suit the need.
Benefits • Eliminates paper – creates space! • Electronic access – all you need is a computer • Provides a mechanism for finding the bottleneck in a process
