China’s Geographic Location • China is located in the east of the Eurasian Continent, to the west of the Pacific Ocean. • China has a land boundary of more than 20 000km, bordering 14 countries. • China’s land area is 9 600 000k㎡, ranking 3rd in the world after Russia and Canada. Besides, it also has a sea area of 3 000 000k㎡. • China has 23 provinces, 5 autonomous regions, 4 municipalities directly under the central government and 2 special administrative regions, with Beijing as its capital.

  7. Beijing • It is the capital of China. It is the political, culture, scientific and educational center of the State and also the center of transportation and international exchange. • With the successful bid for the Summer Olympic Games in 2008, the concept of “Green Olympics, Technology Olympics and Cultural Olympic” will definitely bring large changes to Beijing, promote the development of China and strengthen the friendly communication between Chinese people and other people in the world.

  8. Harbin • Located in Northeast China; capital of the Helongjiang Province. It lies on the southern bank of the Songhua River. • Harbin is ranked as the tenth largest city in China, serving as a key political, economic, scientific, cultural and communications center of Northeastern China. • Harbin bears the nicknames 'The Pearl on the swan's neck' because the shape of Helongjiang resembles a swan, and 'Oriental Moscow' or 'Oriental Paris' for the architecture in the city. Harbin is also known as 'Ice City' for its long and cold winter.

  11. Shanghai • Located on the estuary of the Yangtze River, Shanghai is not only one of the largest cities in China but also a famous city of history, culture and tourism. It is the biggest economic center and the most important industrial base in China, it also flourishes as a center of trade, finance and culture. • Shanghai has a unique atmosphere through the mixture of West and East, old and new. In Shanghai the western buildings of the Bund retain much of their previous grandeur, while the skyscrapers in Pudong are just as spectacular. • People can not only taste local dishes and delicacies from all across China, but also enjoy French cuisine an American fast food. • The Bund: architectural exposition of all countries in the world. • The Yuyuan Garden: five huge dragons

Ningbo • Ningbo was one of China's oldest cities with a history dating back to 4800 B.C. • Known as a major trading port along with Yangzhou and Guangzhou in the Tang dynasty; • Important economic hub and port city. Historically a port city for foreign trade since the 7th century. Ningbo currently is a major exporter of consumer products, electrical products, textiles, food, and industrial tools.
