“Trifles” by Susan Glaspell
Mr. & Mrs. Hale George Clooney and Julianne Moore George is a versatile actor and one of my favorites. Julianne is an excellent actress, middle aged and not as thin as Mrs. Peters.
Sheriff & Mrs. Peters Aaron Eckhart and Nicole Kidman I chose Aaron because he is middle aged and reminds me of a sheriff in this picture. I chose Nicole because she is thin and wiry as Mrs. Peters is described.
County Attorney, Mr. Henderson Colin Farrell I chose Colin because he is young, has a professional appearance as a lawyer and he played a very good detective in the movie “Minority Report”.
Mr. & Mrs. Wright Anthony Hopkins and Kathy Bates I chose Kathy because she is such a versatile actress and she was awesome in “Misery”. Anthony is one of my favorite actors. He is very versatile and talented and I loved his characters in “Meet Joe Black” and “Silence of the Lambs”.
Song Selection • “Hung Up” by Madonna – Because Mr. Wright was hung by a rope. • “Sick and Tired” by Everclear – Obviously Mrs. Wright was sick and tired of her life with a hard man that degraded her. • “Picture to Burn” by Taylor Swift – Because of the lyrics, “there’s no time for tears, I’m just sitting here planning my revenge, there’s nothing stopping me.” • “Blue on Black” by Kenny Wayne Shepherd – Because of a line in the chorus, “a dead man’s touch” and “wrong can’t be undone”. • “When a Woman’s Fed Up” by R Kelly – Because she was!
Summary All the images that I chose were mentioned in the play. Mrs. Wright had a singing canary, canned preserves, quilted, and her husband was murdered by a rope. The picture of the farm house was a realistic image especially because it had a second floor. Mr. Wright was murdered in the upstairs bedroom. I think these images would attract movie goers.
