Destination Measures What are destination measures? • Destination measures show the percentage of pupils or students going to or remaining in an education and/or employment destination in the academic year after completing their key stage 4 or key stage 5 (level 3) studies • Published annually at national, regional, LA, parliamentary constituency and institutional level (including student characteristics) • Published in Performance Tables as a headline accountability measure for both key stages
Destination Measures Education or employment activity 2014/15 2013/14 cohort What constitutes a ‘destination’ in the measure? • The cohort is as published in the Performance Tables • Destinations are derived from activity the year after a student completes KS4 or completes KS5 (level 3 only) • The destination has to be sustained for at least two terms (October – March) • Employment destinations are allowed a pause of one month • Students recorded in both education and employment will be recorded as education
Destination Measures What about students who don’t have a sustained destination? There are other reporting categories in the measure • Destination not sustained – some activity during the year but failed to meet the 6 month sustainability criteria • Activity not captured – no activity recorded in any of the administrative datasets
