  4. My dad is reading the newspaper. news + paper = newspaper

  5. Rule: When two words are joined together and make one word with a new meaning it is called a compound word. • Examples:- paint + brush = paintbrush

  6. sea + shell = seashell • fire + place = fireplace • bath + tub = bathtub

  7. pop + corn = popcorn • flash + light = flashlight • up + stairs = upstairs • rain + coat = raincoat
