Radio’s • Radios were a huge part of the 1920’s cause the didn’t have television and the radio gave people news and current events going on in the world. • The first American radio broadcast was in the 1920s from KDKA in Pittsburgh. • Other radio shows popped up all across America such as “Red Menace” news, The A&P Gypsies, and Acousticon Hour. • Virtually every single home had a radio in it.

Newspapers • Another form of media was of course newspapers. • In 1920 there were 2,042 English-language dailies in 1,295 American cities; their total circulation was 27.8 million. • News papers only cost 2 cents. • One of the most successful tabloids was Joseph Medill Patterson’s The New York Daily News in 1919.
