  2. During the half term the school dug up a mysterious box

  3. Everybody was excited, soon the box was opened and all was revealed.

  4. It was a time capsule, inside there was…

  5. A skipping rope, a dress, a bag of marbles and a doll.

  6. A candle snuffer, a glass bottle, a paraffin lamp, a book called Gulliver's travels, a corn dolly.

  7. Also there was a key that was found when the gardener was planting bulbs with the help of 3 class ones.

  8. An embroidered cloth, a thimble a needle case, a hat pin and a French knitting doll.

  9. At the bottom of the box there was a scrap of paper that said… ‘These items belong to Mildred May Partridge, 1893’

  10. Class three did some research and they found a lot about Mildred. They also found that her granddaughter was Rachel Wells who lives in Vale Lane.

  11. Anne Maltby a local villager came in to give the children some information about her book
