  3. Advice and Updates • Software – SolidWorks – contract signed on 26/2/07 • Includes DWG editor • CosmosFlow • PhotoWorks • Solid Professor • Hardware – Dell is supplier of schools CAD machine (Desktop) • Tender for laptops will be complete by mid March

  8. Advice and Updates • Software is available to teachers for home use • Software is available to students for home use • Both SolidWorks and MS learning suite are included in this

  9. Where do we get it? • Software can be ordered immediately • Each school receives unique registration and activation codes which cover 50 seats • Student version is activated using schools codes • As many student versions as required can be activated for home use

  14. Ordering Desktop PC’s A letter instructing schools to begin ordering of hardware will issue from the DES before March 30th Machines can be ordered before Easter with first deliveries commencing after Easter holidays These will be ordered directly from Dell • By phone • By dedicated web page

  15. Other equipment Ideally schools should budget for • A machine for subject department use • A data projector (2000 lumens)/ceiling mounted/wired to teachers position • Projector screen • An A3 colour laser printer (duplex) • An A4 flatbed scanner

  17. Ordering Desktop PC’s Schools will not need to set up a Dell account All that will be needed is: • School roll number • Contact/address details • Number of machines required A server option (customised to school needs) will also be available
