  4. Sadako • Sadako was a real student in Japan. She lived from 1943-1955.

  5. Paper cranesA crane is a large water bird.Some people fold paper to make paper cranes. Some people believe that if you fold 1,000 paper cranes, your wish will come true.

  7. Hiroshima • Hiroshima is a modern city on Japan’s Honshu Island,. It was largely destroyed by an atomic bomb during World War II.

  9. Atom Bomb • The United States dropped atomic bombs (atom bombs) on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945, during the final stage of the Second World War.
