The following instructions are important before draping a client for any type of service • Prepare materials and supplies for the service • Sanitize hands • Ask the client to remove all neck and hair jewelry and store it away • Remove objects from the client’s hair • Turn the client’s collar to the inside • Proceed with the appropriate draping method

4. Purpose of neck strip A neck strip or towel are used for sanitary reasons, to prevent contact of the cape with the client's skin

5. Draping for wet hair services • Towel – Drape – Towel • Plastic drape is used • Drape for haircut • Nylon drape is used • A neck strip is used for a haircut • This allows the hair to fall naturally without obstruction
