What Rosa did… • Rosa refused to give her seat up to a white personon a bus because it was unconstitutional • Rosa’s action started a boycott for African Americans against city bus lines.
Rosa’s Big Accomplishments • Worked for the NAACP National Association for the Advancement of Colored People • Won the Martin Luther King Jr. Non-Violent Peace Prize

Harriet Tubman • Was born in 1820 or 1821. • In Dorchester County, Maryland. • Escaped from slavery in 1949.
What she did • Conductor of the Underground Railroad. • Helped 300 slaves flee the south and slavery. • Was a spy during the Civil War
Her family • She helped her mother and father escape slavery. • Later helped bring her sister’s family to the free north.
