  1. What is the Water Rafiki Chain? • The Water Rafiki Chain is a chain that you can buy for $10. • These Chains are hand made by a mama in Kenya using Fair Trade (A woman in Kenya is called a Mama, and Fair Trade means these women are not forced to make the Chains, the money they are given supports their family, crops, and children’s education) • All proceeds go towards Free The Children, a non – charitable organization that helps people suffering in poverty worldwide.

  2. What does the $10 do? • The $10 that it costs to buy a Water Rafiki Chain goes to Free The Children. Free The Children, takes the $10, and transforms it into clean, accessible water for 1 person for an entire year. If 100 Chains are sold, $1000 goes to Free The Children, and 100 people are provided with clean water for a whole year.

  3. How can I wear the Rafiki Chain? • Boys usually wear the Water Rafiki Chain as a bracelet, or, it makes a cool necklace. Girls, can wear it as a bracelet, headband, necklace, anklet, or even a belt.

  4. Who wears the Rafiki Chain that’s famous? • Marc and Craig Keilburger wear the Chain, and so do: • Demi Lovato • The Jonas Brothers • Spencer West • K’Naan • Nelly Furtato • Even Karl wolf is also a suppoter of Free The Children

  5. When Can I Buy The Rafiki Chain? • There will be an announcement on the week of June 10th –June 15th, so be sure to listen to the announcements! Remember, you have to pay when you order, so remember to ask your parents before you order!

  6. Where Can I buy The Chain? • The Chains will not be sold up-front. You, first, must order the Rafiki Chain(s), and fill out a sheet stating your name, classroom, quantity, etc., and pay the price for the number of beads you ordered. Then, the beads will be distributed the week of June 17th at the chapel at lunch recess. Dates on distribution will also be on the announcements, so listen up!
