Office for Students with Disabilities At the College of Lake County [Welcome to the office for students with disabilities at the College of Lake County. We are located on the first floor of the Library (LRC) at the Grayslake Campus.]
[The mission of the OSD is to provide accessibility for each and every class under the law.]
[That access can come by the way of a service, such as sign language interpreters for the deaf.]
[Or in equipment, such as FM units for the hard of hearing.]
[For students with low vision, a portable CCTV may be offered in order to gain access.]
[Other examples of assistive equipment include digital voice recorders, Franklin dictionaries and digital pens.]
[If needed, our media conversion technicians can take the printed word, and convert it to an alternate format.]
[Though students receiving services through our office may be blind, deaf or utilize a wheelchair, the majority of students our office serves have an invisible disability, such as ADD, Anxiety, or a Learning Disability. ]
[Regardless of your career choice or area of academic interest, the Office for Students with Disabilities can provide you with academic accommodations to assist you in meeting your goal.]
Process for Receiving Accommodations [If you are interested in receiving accommodations within your classes, the process is as follows.]

Process for Receiving Accommodations • Complete an application and consent • Submit documented evidence of a disability [Students are required to provide OSD with documentation relative to their disability.]
Process for Receiving Accommodations • Complete an application and consent • Submit documented evidence of a disability • Once reviewed, OSD will meet with student [OSD staff will review the documentation and arrange to meet with you to discuss needed accommodations.]
