He has a national reputation for his work as a social entrepreneur. His work has been recognized with the Business First Health Hero Award, the Governor's Excellence Award for Public Service, and other honors.

The walk began as a statewide initiative in Ohio, but has since expanded to become a national event.

Two of the issues that matter most to him are encouraging black men to be more responsible fathers, and for young people to stay in school and create better futures for themselves.
