Image Analysis of Dyslexia and Autism (IADA) Computer Vision and Image Processing Lab Department of Psychiatry
Introduction • The IADA project began in January 2005 between the Computer Vision and Image Processing Lab (CVIP) and the Psychiatry Department. • The major objective of the project is to provide analysis of dyslexic and autistic patients through MRI Studies.
This presentation serves as a navigator that guides the reader to • The necessary background and litrature from the aspect of neuroanatomy and psychiatry. • The necessary background from the image analysis tools. • Progress reports and publications done by the team work of the project
Literature 1: Neurology Background • Reduced brain size and gyrification in the brains of dyslexic patients. • Minicolumnar pathology in dyslexia. • Developmental dyslexia: atypical cortical asymmetries and functional significance. • Localization of white matter volume increase in autism and developmental disorder
Literature 2: Image Analysis Background • Medical Image Segmentation via Coupled Curve Evolution Equations with Global Constraints. • A Level-set Based Approach to Image Registration. • Volumetric Layer Segmentation Using Coupled Surfaces Propagation. • Morphological Alteration of Temporal Lobe Gray Matter in Dyslexia: An MRI Study
Hey !! Do not forget to check the CVIP library , we still have lots of hard copy papers
Progress Reports and publications • Progress Report 1 • Structural MRI analysis of the brains of patients with dyslexia. • Presentation of the problem and the analysis done so far
