What is a wiki? A wiki is a Web site that allows users to add and update content on the site using their own Web browser. http://www.techterms.com/definition/wiki
What is a blog? • Short for "Web Log," this term refers to a list of journal entries posted on a Web page. http://www.techterms.com/definition/blog • Can take the form of a journal or a discussion • Can also be in video form – called a vlog
Why use wikis and blogs? • Increasing student interest and motivation • Involving students in their learning process • Teaching 21st Century skills and ISTE NETS • Collaboration • Communication • Digital Citizenship • Working in a medium students know and love • Password protected – safe online communities • Modeling and practicing use of academic English and ASL on the internet
