Insight to Leaders • Be Flexible You can learn to overcome fear with confidence and laziness with discipline, but rigidity of mind has no antidote. It carries the seeds of its own destruction. Bested are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape. • Be United – repair conflict immediately (use 24 hour rule) All your strength is in union, all your danger is in discord Collaboration is multiplication • Building a team is as important as producing the event Inspiration is easy, implementation is the hard part. It will be the end result that everyone will measure your efforts. But more important will be… if they have confidence to join you on the next endeavor 4.Dependability is more than ability alone In the final analysis, the one quality that all successful people have… is the ability to take on responsibility. It is not enough that we do our best; sometime we have to do what’s required Remember they are “all” volunteers…just as you are The purpose of life is not to win. The purpose of life is to grow and to share. When you come to look back on all that you have done in life, you will get more satisfaction from the pleasure you have brought to other peoples’ lives than you will from the times that you outdid and defeated them. – Rabbi Harold kushner
Recruiting students is rewarding & fun… Prescott High School- Judy Martinez-School Teacher All our students had a wonderful time at the AZ Construction Career Days 2002. It was great to see the faces of the students as they participated in the hands on activities. I was impressed by the way all of the presenters dealt with the kids. The information they gave out was great, but their enthusiasm for meeting the students and encouraging them to join their profession was incredible. The students could tell they had a genuine interest in them. Project Challenge – George Abbott This was an awesome opportunity for our students to participate in. All the students were exposed to various aspects of the construction industry and were afforded the opportunity for hands on experiences. Venue locations were divided into three primary categories 1- Demonstration Competitions (Brick laying, pipefitting, and & small toolbox construction. 2. Heavy equipment displays and operations. 3. Construction Displays with career information. Aqua Fria/Milliumum- Karen – School Counselor says… They came back raving how wonderful the field trip was. Kids came jazzed , teachers were excited, Tracy our career center person said it was the best trip she had ever been on. Thank you for the wonderful opportunity you presented for our students. I can only imagine how much work and effort you went through to provide this experience for our students. We look forward to the next AZ Construction Career Days 2003 and the excitement that it brings to the all our students. Construction Career Days…
