I am ready and willing to serve as the 2007-2008 Black Student Alliance Treasurer, and I am looking forward to helping the executive committee to develop a budget for the programs that will be held in the near future .

I am prepared to ask the tough questions and get to the bottom of the GPA disparity within the Duke community in terms of race.

I hope to build off of the momentum of this year’s committee in order to continue working with other on-campus groups and groups at other schools to facilitate communication, mobilization and interaction. • What I Have to Offer: My interest in and study of politics corresponds directly with the mission of the Public Affairs Committee. I have experience working with this committee and with other on-campus organizations. I have an understanding of what is necessary to help expand the visibility and accessibility of the organization. • What I am passionate about: Politics; Activism and Involvement; Human Rights; My family It is direly necessary for our generation to be aware of current events, politics, and their effects on us and our future. Although it is easy for students to become caught up in the “Duke bubble” and ignore the external community, we must actively seek to avoid becoming socially ignorant citizens.

Also, I can promise you that when I commit to something I pursue it to my utmost ability. • Why I am unique: Quietly, I have an outie belly button  • What I am passionate about: my family, my education, Duke, bettering the communities that I am a part of and my friends I am a very outgoing and responsible person.
