Women’s Opportunity Awards • In 2011-2012: • 74 percent of clubs participated. • More than 1,200 women were honored with the award. • Nearly$1.6 million in awards were given. Soroptimist International of the Americas

Outcomes-Based Evaluation • Output: The number of women and girls reached and the amount of money given away each year • Outcomes: How and to what degree the lives of women and girls were changed as the result of our programs Soroptimist International of the Americas
Soroptimist Club Grants for Women and Girls • Goal: To improve the lives of women and girls in local Soroptimist communities. • In the 2010-2011 club year, 97% of the clubs reached their stated goals. Soroptimist International of the Americas
Soroptimist Disaster Grants for Women and Girls • Goal: To ensure that women and girls have the resources they need to prepare for or recover from a disaster. • 80% of the funded projects will meet their stated objectives. Soroptimist International of the Americas
Soroptimist Project Matching • Goals: • To improve the lives of women and girls in local communities. • To match Soroptimist clubs that need support for their local projects with clubs that have support to give. The Rocky Mountain Region will support SI/Yerevan, Armenia’s project “Preventive program against cervical cancer” Soroptimist International of the Americas
Violet Richardson Award • Goal: Through recognition of their volunteer efforts, girls will continue to be active volunteers. • 100% of survey respondents were still volunteering. 2010-2011 federation finalist Allyson Ahlstrom in front of her organization, Threads for Teens. New Girl-Focused Project We will research and design a new program that creates real change in the lives of disadvantaged girls. Soroptimist International of the Americas
Women’s Opportunity Awards • Goal: Through increased education, women will secure employment that provides an improved standard of living for themselves and their dependents. 2010-2011 federation finalist Lisa Boyd and her daughters. Soroptimist International of the Americas
Women’s Opportunity Awards • 97 percent of survey respondents reported increased self-esteem and self-confidence. • 69 percent earned a degree or certificate. • 80 percent reported an improved standard of living for themselves and their families and • 88 percent reported serving as a role model for their dependents. Program Chairs Responsibilities include conducting program evaluations, critical reading of new resources and reading and scoring club grants. Soroptimist International of the Americas
Program Chairs • Make presentations at district and region meetings on programs to support Shaping the Soroptimist Future through increased collective impact. • Work with the Women’s Opportunity Awards region chair to strategize about increasing and or maintaining participation.
