Smallpox. The Grey Horse • Do My Friends Think I have Forgotten my Wife and Children? • Smallpox. The Proclamation for Independence Read Aloud.

  3. Presentation 1. As a small group read your letter(s) 2. Divide the group up into the following jobs: 1. Find specific examples of rhetorical devices and explain why they are important to the passage as a whole. 2. Define words or ideas that are important (example: small pox or terms that are in the footnotes). Make sure to explain their importance. 3. Write a script summarizing the letter in YOUR OWN WORDS. 4. Put together a power point presentation with your group’s information. Make sure to following proper formatting of a power point*** 3. At the end of the period turn in a piece of paper stating who is responsible for each job. 4. Presentations should be 5 minutes in length.

Proper Power Point Layout • Each slide should focus on ONE topic • Each slide should have an appropriate title • Each slide should have a picture • Information should be in bullet points NOT paragraph format • Slides should use different layouts • There should be a Works Cited page at the end of the presentation.

  6. Post-Presentation Quiz This will be over the information shared by your classmates during their presentations. It is important that you understand the following from each of the presentations: 1. The rhetorical devices in each of the letters. 2. The main idea of each of the letters. QUIZ WILL BE ON THURS. SEPT. 23
