Fall 2010/Spring 2011 Iowa Core Implementation Plan Peer Review
Peer Review Process To be effective, there are two beliefs that participants need to consider… 1. Individuals or groups working together can usually produce better work than individuals or groups working in isolation. (synergy) 2. There is no piece of work that with more time, thought and effort couldn’t be improved. (continuous improvement)
Peer Review Process The emphasis is on improving the work. The atmosphere is one of “we’re in this together.” Our single purpose is… “to make a good thing even better.”
Peer Review Process Rationale: • The Iowa Core… major priority for teaching & learning in Iowa • Implementation intended as a working plan of action… adjusted on a regular basis • Strength & success of implementation enhanced through collaboration within & among schools • Best opportunity to positively impact student learning in each & every classroom across Iowa
Peer Review Process Purpose • to provide and receive feedback on the Iowa Core Implementation Plan… a collaborative, on-going process for strengthening the plan and its implementation
