  5. 2 T = lb Convert Larger Units to Smaller Units Refer to the information in the Key Concept: Customary Units of Weight. A truck weighs about 2 tons. How many pounds does the truck weigh? Larger units (tons) are being converted to smaller units (pounds). Since 1 ton (T) = 2,000 pounds, multiply 2 by 2,000. Answer: So, the truck weighs 2 × 2,000 or 4,000 pounds. Example 1
