What is CICORE? • CICORE is a distributed coastal ocean observatory comprised of 10 (of 23) CSU campuses - others will join. • CICORE focuses on the near-coastal regions, including wetlands, harbors, estuaries • CICORE emphasizes three technologies: • In situ sensors with high temporal resolution • Benthic mapping and characterization. • Hyperspectral digital imagery of shallow water and the coast
CICORE data (1): • High temporal resolution in situ data • Presently collected at four sites • Humboldt State University • Commercial pier “B” and Trinidad Head • San Francisco State University/Romberg Tiburon Center • RTC waterfront • Moss Landing Marine Laboratories • Small boats pier • California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo • Unical pier in San Luis Bay • New sites to be added 2005 in southern California • OSI/SCMI/CSULB • Los Angeles River fishing pier • Point Fermin mooring
