Paraprofessionalscan be an invaluable extension of the special education teacher if an effective system is created in the school. Most special education programs rely on paraprofessionals to assist with inclusion programs, yet special education teachers lack training in supervision and designing effective inclusion programs using paraprofessionals. This workshop gives practical techniques that help define roles, improve observation techniques, increase reliable data collection, create flexible schedules, and help direct instructional assistance in the inclusion classroom. An opportunity for further training may be available.
