The Cover-Up Begins • September 1972- The CRP gives $450,000 to the “plumbers” to silence them after their indictment

Got him! • March 1974- a grand jury indicts 7 presidential aides, investigation is closing in on Nixon • July 24, 1974- the Nixon v. United States caserules that he must surrender the tapes • July 27, 1974- a Judiciary Committee approves 7 articles of impeachment
Bye, Bye Richard! • August 5, 1974- Nixon releases the tapes • August 8, 1974- Nixon resigns and Ford becomes president
