  2. It is a wise investment but it is relatively big, so you have to take some effort to keep them at its best. The difficult task in taking care of the plantation shutter is to keep them clean. Otherwise, the dust and dirt will ruin the material.

  3. The cleaning process differs depending on the type of material that is made. The real wood plantation shutters if painted well with the quality finish is easy to clean and maintain. Use a dust cloth and clean the shutter at least once a month.

  4. The faux plantation shutters are made of vinyl. Such indoor vinyl shutters should be dusted at least once a week. You can use either a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner hose to complete the task. Tilt the slats up and down to clean thoroughly.

  5. Don’t forget to clean the top and bottom of the shutters. Soap and water can be used for cleaning the vinyl shutters. Some industry experts recommend the use of distilled water to prevent spotting.

  6. Dip a cloth in the water and soap mixture and clean the shutter. Next, dip the cloth in normal water and clean the shutter to remove the soap residues. Use a toothbrush to remove dirt particles where you can’t reach.
