What does each level require? • For Practice Community Membership staff should • demonstrates that he/she: • Knows what UNDP does (e.g. MDGs, what HDR and • what HDR and NHDR measure), has read the toolkit and • knows key CO activities and staff functions • The Practice Practitioner Passfor CO staff at G4 level and • Higher. Awarded when staff member demonstrates that he/she • also has/is: • in-depth knowledge of UNDP Corporate Priorities • a member of at least two knowledge networks • basic knowledge of one or two Practices
What does each level require? • The Practice Developer Pass: all PA / PO’s. Awarded when • staff demonstrates that he/she has: • substantive knowledge in all his/her Practices areas and makes • contributions to knowledge networks • knowledge in a cross cutting issues and supported the • development of a CO learning sessions in a Practice • shared and used knowledge acquired in Practice work
What does each level require? • The Practice Expert Passfor Programme / professional staff • including RRs and DRRs. Awarded when staff member also • demonstrates that he/she has: • participated in a Practice workshop • made regular substantial contribution to knowledge networks • (validated by network facilitators) • participated in CO and/or SURF joint missions in a Practice area • documented and shared a UNDP product or service externally

Role of Your Friendly Neighborhood SURF • Your designated practice coach – helping translate tool kit into practical use from a CO perspective e.g. through demand driven: - “what can it do for me” facilitation i.e: trainings / workshops / learning events - provision of concrete regional comparative examples - brokering CO / CO exchanges - Assist in networking of learning managers in the region
More specifically the Bangkok SURF could: • Liaise actively with PIC and LM to provide advice on process and strategy development • Help design and facilitate a two-day workshop in which a Practice Implementation Plan could be drafted by the CO • Support completion of Practice Map - coached by a SURF team • Undertake Practice Pass certification process – individual coaching sessions with CO staff • Assist in the conceptualization of a simple yet practical KM strategy that codifies and captures CO knowledge • Periodically benchmark core Practice Implementation activities and assist COs to both codify and report progress
