  8. Germany had the strongest army while Britain ruled the seas…

  9. Austria-Hungary took over Bosnia-Herzegovina

  10. Serbs living there weren’t impressed!

  11. They were LESS impressed when they were visited by Archduke (and Crown Prince of Austria-Hungary) Franz Ferdinand!

  12. A nationalist group called the “Black Hand” set up an assassination attempt on Ferdinand and his wife.

  13. Gavrilo Princip shot the couple!

  14. It was the straw that broke the camel’s back… “camel” “straw”

  15. Over the years leading up to this event, alliances had formed…

  22. Germany joined Austria-Hungary

  23. Germany invaded Belgium…

  24. So Britain declared war on Germany!
