Pre-war British career • 1920 - fulltime job at Islington Studios: designing the titles for silent movies • 1926 - the first film The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog • December 2,1926- marriage with his assistant director Alma Reville
Hollywood • 1940-He made his first American movie Rebecca.It won the Academy Award for Best Picture of 1940 • Second American film - the European-set thriller Foreign Correspondent • 1941-Suspicion marked Hitchcock's first film as a producer as well as director • 1942-Saboteur was the first of two films that Hitchcock made for Universal(a studio where he would work in his later years)
