  1. Article Cards Finding and Documenting Sources

  2. Article Card Requirements • Due each Friday. • The article card must be submitted on a 5x8 index card with a copy of the article attached. • These will be the sources used in the students senior research project paper– they must all be on the topic they have selected and be from CREDIBLE sources.

  3. Top Line: Student Full Name/Date/Class Period • Skip line • Brief summary of article. (2-3 sentences) • Skip line • Analysis of article: (rest of card) • MUST include: how you will use in your research project. • MAY include: analysis of style, tone, form, sources

  4. Back of Card: • On the back the student should write the MLA source citation that they will use on their Works Cited Page of their research paper.

  5. Article Card Conference • The article card is worth 25 points. • Students will conference with instructor on their article card.

  6. How to find articles? • What is a credible source? • Where can I go to find credible sources? • How do I document my source in MLA format?

  7. Suggestions • If you find multiple sources at one time– save (e-mail or print a copy) and use for future weeks. • Only select the BEST articles/studies on your topic– remember each one of these should appear in your research project. • Start a Works Cited page and add to it each week– this will save you time at the end of the term.
