Definition 1: European Commission “a concept whereby companies integrate social and environmental concerns in their business operations and in their interaction with their stakeholders on a voluntary basis” CSR = social AND environmental considerations « Stakeholders » recognized « on a voluntary basis » not everyone agrees.CSR = social AND environmental considerations « Stakeholders » recognized « on a voluntary basis » not everyone agrees.

Definition 1: European Commission “a concept whereby companies integrate social and environmental concerns in their business operations and in their interaction with their stakeholders on a voluntary basis” Definition 2: World Business Council for Sustainable Development “the continuing commitment by business to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of the workforce and their families as well as of the local community and society at large.” Continuing commitment - not a one-off campaign or project « behave ethically » - we will see what it means.
