Ground Ops • A-10’s/C130’s/Alert/Transient A/C • Plan extra ground time for heavy EOR traffic • Start / Clearance / Taxi - all on UHF Ch 2 (275.8) • Taxi Flow
Departures (pp 1-11 to 1-14) • Be familiar with the DMA-3 and standard departures • Maintain 3700’ or below until 1 NM past departure end • Unrestricted/Max climbs must be put on request and approved • Not allowed on RWY 30 (Noise Abatement) • Non-Standard flights’ wingmen squawk 4000 until rejoined to standard formation • State “Non-standard” when calling for clearance
Departures (Afterburner/UC) • Do not use burner beyond lateral confines of the field • Exceptions for safety, heavyweights/lives • Unrestricted climbs must be coordinated with Tower/ATC
Surface to 6.5 MSL North of I-10 5 to 10 nm outer ring Surface to 17.5 MSL North of I-10 5 nm ring
Pattern Notes • Report “Courts” or “Pits” @ 5500’ for Initial • No pattern for straight-ins for R12 (request Re-Run) • R12: Descend from 5500’ to 5000’ on turn from base to initial • R12/R30: Descend from 5000’ to 4200’ at 4 DME and report initial with intentions • 4200’ Pattern Altitude – break towards the ramp • Transients/weekends—1 to full stop
High TRP High TRP will only be flown by 355FW assigned A-10s
Barry M. Goldwater Range (BMGR) • Range entry and exit IAW IFG (pp 3-2 and 3-8) • Check-in with “Snakeye” with Callsign, number of aircraft, range time, lives, LASER use • “Snakeye” (Range Ops) • Conventional and Tactical Ranges and Sells ABCDE • NOT ATC, limited point-outs, provides altimeter setting and GBN runway • Confirms closed targets and clearing pass requirement • Check out with “Snakeye” • Report expenditures and targets for tactical ranges only • Caution: Range NOTAMS and target restrictions change daily.
Ordnance Restrictions (pp 3-9 to 3-13) • Very detailed restrictions in IFG • Note that lower case letters indicates there are specific restrictions for DMPIs within a certain target set • Additional restrictions exist when OPs are manned and when employing heavyweights. • Reference range operations at: Individual Squadron Share Drives/CCV Section/PUBS/ BMGR Range DVD
VR / LATN Procedures • Ensure all switches are SAFE off-range! • Monitor and call turn points/route legs on UHF LATN FREQ while transiting the LATN area (7.5k and Below): “Elvis 01, Window Mountain to Guachi, 300AGL” • Most red circles are for 1 ½ NM and 3000’ • Common A-10 Bullseye is Gila Bend • Luke AFB F-16s often reference “Bugs” (NE corner of ETAC) • Radios (per FCIF 10-30B) • Above 7.5k – Check-in and Monitor Snakeye – Ch. 10 • 7.5k and Below – Make position reports and monitor LATN Common – CH.9 • Check-in w/ 1 of 7 Standard Reporting Points • BUGGS, CIM PEAK, KITT, AJO, S. MTN, SLATES, WHISKEY

Emergency Procedures • Emergency Safe Altitude -17200 MSL (Balloon at FHU) • Minimum Sector Altitude - 10700 MSL • Contact DMAFB SOF on CH 19 (327.7) with problems and intentions • Single frequency approach (SFA) available on CH 18 (322.425) • DMAFB RWY 30 is primary for major emergencies • Avoid over-flight of city as much as possible
