Objectives • To optimize weight of the pull handle and verify the maximum deformation and stress occurred in design model.
Actual Model CAD Model at Initial. Pull Handle made by Brass material and having 286 gms weight.
Meshed Model of Initial Design Type of Elements: 3D Tetra with 10- noded Total no of elements: 67526 Total no of nodes: 118375
Applied Loading Conditions for Initial Design • 3 Kg of load is applied represented with blue color. • Translation and Rotation in X,Y & Z directions were fixed represented in red color. • Translation in Y direction was fixed represented in pink color.
Deformation plot for Initial Design Maximum Deformation of 0.0354 mm occurred.
Stress plot for Initial Design Maximum Stress of 8.895 MPa Occurred
Proposed Optimized Design-1 • Reduced the width of the Door Leg • Moved the hole and removed material near holes and backside of handle • Optimized mass 196 gms.
Deformation plot for Proposed Design-1 Maximum Deformation of 0.0706 mm occurred.
Stress plot for Proposed Design-1 Maximum Stress of 30.10 MPa Occurred
Proposed Optimized Design-2 • Reduced the width of the Door Leg • Moved the hole and removed material near holes and backside of handle. • Removed the materials at the center as shown in above picture • Optimized mass 176 gms.
