  4. Smoking Is One The Risk Factors of Low Back Pain. 5. Sedentary LifestyleA Perpetuating Factor for Lower Back Pain • Humans are naturally creatures of movement. The human body is designed to allow comfortable movement patterns through our sometimes unpredictable environment. However, today’s culture certainly does not promote regular movement and unfortunately offers way too many “solutions” that make our lives just a little too easy. We sit in our cars to drive to work, we sit at our desks for hours at a time, then we sit back in our cars to drive home where we typically sit down to eat dinner and watch TV. • When the spine is out of alignment at any level, muscular imbalances manifest themselves as postural issues that may cause pain and injuries. 6. Obesity: Another Risk Factor of Back Pain • Though physical activity carries risks, physical inactivity may carry even higher risks for most people.By creating what’s called a “caloric deficit” you can lose weight, stay trim, and decrease the load on your spine. 7. Diet:Don’t forget a healthy diet, including proper hydration with pure water. Spinal discs are up to 90% water, so remember you are not only what you eat, but also what you drink! Information Compiled By: Dr Jennifer Tinoosh
