Course information • Designed as an advanced Chinese language class, this course focuses on Chinese culture studied in its geographical, historical, philosophical, linguistic, literary, artistic, and scientific contexts. Native speakers or advanced Chinese learners are eligible to enroll. • Taught in Mandarin and enhanced by exploration over the Internet.
Topics (Subject to change) Major topics covered: 1) Nationalities and culture 2) History and geography 3) Festivals 4) Marriage 5) Language, dialects and script 6) Literature and art 7) Science and technology
Class model(will be revised base on real situations) • Each lesson/unit will be covered in two weeks (four class meetings) • Day 1 – lecture about the facts • Day 2 – Review of vocabulary and linguistic points • Day 3 – group study and fact list making • Day 4 – presentations and sharing
