Objectives • Offer greater Communications Capacity in support of First 5 LA grantees • Educate and inform parents, caregivers key stakeholders of First 5 LA initiatives and outcomes • Expand reach to other key targets (e.g., Stakeholders, Policy Makers, Strategic Partners) • Provide utility to all First 5 LA departments and support for key projects
Strategies • Use the web as the key information hub for First 5 LA’s initiatives and accomplishments • Establish first5la.org as a useful aggregator of content and links on early childhood development • Create a framework that is easy to maintain • Create a dynamic, scalable web platform which meets current needs and enables efficient future development • Leverage existing web content, internal projects/processes, and technology systems
Recommendations • Conduct redesign of first5la.org including framework for Spanish-language version of website • Implement content management system • Implement enhanced tool set with new Interactive Agency: • integrated site search • search engine optimization • site analytics • integrated email communications • advocacy tools • other services TBD
Measurement Strategy • New first5la.org website success will be measured through: • Usability Testing at launch • Monthly Traffic Monitoring • Ongoing feedback from Users • Accuracy of content • Support of other Marketing Efforts
Action Plan • Post Interactive Agency RFQ - July • Develop content strategy and desired toolset - July/Aug • Based on internal strategic meetings including Website Task Force • Conduct RFQ Review Process and identify Contractor - July/Aug • Provide RFQ Review Results to PA Committee for final selection - Aug/Sept • Finalize scope of work and contract - Sept/Oct • Conduct project kickoff and finalize site requirements - Sept/Oct • Design + Development + Usability Testing + Quality Assurance testing - Oct through Jan/Feb • PA Committee Review/Approval - Jan/Feb • Initial release 3.0 - Feb/March • Editorial + Site Maintenance Planning - Ongoing
